It is with a wry smile that I read about the Olympics blunder relating to the North Korea flag. We made a similar mistake during the roll-out of a multi-country, multi-language learning management system which was thankfully spotted by our eagle eyed customer during pre-release testing. It just shows that all the phases of testing that we go through in releasing software has a value. Doe this Olympic incident mean that there are gaps in the LOCOG quality management systems?
As part of our ongoing development of solutions to manage supply chain risk and for product lifecycle management we endeavour to adhere to a robust quality management system, but as everyone involved in quality management know it is a continuous and demanding process and some minor non-conformances can be quite embarrasing if exposed.
